Life

I haven't written any thing in a while, so I figured today was a good day to update everyone :)
Things have been a little crazy, between working, helping with homework, taking care of sick children and maintaining a somewhat normal household, I am just worn out! WHEW! I have picked up extra hours a work, so shuffling the vehicle around has been a little nuts too. Anyway, things have calmed down a little. I finished cleaning my house, Scott is gone for the day and the boys are off playing.
I am taking my teller test for Regions Bank on Monday. I am a little nervous because like the rest of them, it is pass or fail. I hate those profiling tests, but it is part of the process.
We are still trying to pull off our annual trip to Ohio, but I don't know if that is going to happen.
I will let everyone know if we manage to pull off the trip.
For now I will leave you with this thought for the day........

Live your life like today is your last day on Earth, for no one really knows if they will be around to see tomorrow.

Neighbors

Does anyone besides me really dislike their neighbors? They are REALLY just ignorant people. OK for starters, anyone who knows me knows that I was not thrilled with the idea of selling them our truck. Not only have they totally destroyed it, but they are behind on making the payments. I am over it! I think we should just repo the truck, take it to the junkyard and cut our losses. Scott has regrets from helping them also.
He, the neighbor, has not worked in a few months. His wife is lazy and does nothing, while their daughter, constantly comes over and asks "Can I eat over?" I feel bad saying no, because I know she must not be eating at home, but she is not my daughter and I have three children of my own to feed. OK, so maybe I should not be venting, but I am so tired of helping those who don't want to help themselves! I hope I am not sounding like an uncaring bitch, but lets face it.....
They have 3 children, no jobs, they go to the church every week for food, they have money for gas to drive who knows where, but can't pay me for the truck, the electric and water are constantly being shut off, yet they have cellphones (yes, that is a necessity!) Her 16 year old brother lives with them, yet her mom, who lives right around the corner, collects child support on him. I am over the crap and if that make me a bitch, then I claim the title!

Regions Bank

Today, Regions Banks had an open house at their new location in New Port Richey. I actually found out about it on one of my job searches. They were doing on the spot interviews, so I decided to check it out. The event ran from 10am to 1pm. I was there by 10:10 and did not get interviewed until 11:15. There were just so many people there, it was like one big block party. Anyway, I have to call and set up the appointment to take the teller assessment test. I already knew this, but figured what the heck, why not go and at least talk to someone face to face. I will let everyone know how things progress. I only know at this point that it is a pass /fail test, just like the rest of them. I hate those profiling tests because they don't get to know who you are, as a person, based on the results.

Work Update

OK, so I said I would give an update on the Fall decorations for the bathrooms at work. Here it goes: I went to work last night for midnight and scrubbed the bathroom from ceiling to floor with ammonia. I think I was high most of the night from the chemicals. The bathrooms were NASTY!!!! The water turned almost black before I was half way done with one bathroom. Anyway, I managed to scrub them both down and be done by 3am. I could not decorate though until almost 4am. My manager never bought nails :( I sent her to the store after she came in at 330. Once I finally decorated and they were finished they looked great. (well, at least for a 7-11 restroom)

Aaron's Birthday

Yesterday was my oldest son's birthday. It is hard to believe that he is 9 already. It seems like just yesterday I was bringing him home from the hospital. He is getting so big , so fast. Time seems to be just slipping away.

A Tribute

Anyone who knows me knows that I love to write, however, I can really only write when something or someone truly inspires me. That does not mean I can't write when I am not inspired, it just takes longer to find the right words. Anyway, on September 10th, there was a documentary on the History Channel about "The Falling Man" Most of you reading this should remember the image from any September 12, 2001 newspaper. This is an image the caused great controversy, so much that it was never printed again.
This documentary was the inspiration for the poem you are about to read:

The Falling Man

The falling man
Who can he be?
No one knows with certainty

His photo appeared in papers around
The stunning image made the world see
The dynamics of this tragedy

All of those above the impact zone
Knew almost certain
They would not be going home

Saying good-bye to those they hold close
Holding back tears and choking on smoke

Many decided they would not wait
For they already knew their own fate

100, 200 maybe more
Plunged to their death on the concrete floor

No one wants to talk about these numbers
They are only known as the tower jumpers

These people were real
With families and friends
No one should have to face such a tragic end

The falling man image
Made the world see
The dynamics of this tragedy

I dedicate this to all those who died that tragic day September 11th, 2001

Update

OK, so things did not get any better today. :( I would rather not go into too much detail, but what I will say is 'HE' is a poop head! I am very upset with him.
On a better note..... I made spaghetti and meatballs for dinner and it was YUMMY!

IT has to get better

It is 840 AM and my day has just begun, but not in a good way...... my children were being pests and my coffee maker went crazy. Imagine having to clean up a whole pot of fresh brewed coffee off the counter and ground before you ever actually get to drink a cup. :( I hope the day gets better. :)

Work

Today was just like any other day at work, or so I thought. Usually, I work my 3 stinking hours (5am-8am) and go home. Today, I was assigned a project! I get to decorate for FALL! I love the fall season and all the colors it brings. Anyway, I worked my normal hours and then got to go shopping with my boss. We bought a couple of scarecrows, cornucopias and fall foliage. We still need to get more foliage and a couple of trees. I am going to staple some fall leaves to the tree leaves so it looks like they are changing colors for the season. I can't wait to see how it turns out! I am going to work on it Tuesday night into Wednesday morning (12 midnight-8am) Apparently we have visitors coming sometime on Wednesday and she wants it to look its best when they arrive. I will let you know how it turns out!

Savings

Today I finally got around to doing something I should have done years ago........I set my boys up with savings accounts. It was a simple process, I just never got around to doing it :(
Anyway, they are all set up and now they can put any money they receive into an account and watch it grow. Of course I will allow them a little to spend on candy and toys :)

Banking Jobs

Ok, let me first start by saying, I am new at blogging.
With that being said, let me start by talking about Banking Jobs. Anyone who knows me, knows I have been trying to find a better job. I started looking into the Banking Industry. I have applied at Bank Of America, Washington Mutual, Suntrust and Colonial, just to name a few. Of the banks mentioned, only two of them have called me, Bank Of America and Colonial. Now, I passed the assessment test, went on the initial interview, followed by a second interview with Bank Of America. This whole process has taken over 2 months now and no one has even given my the courtesy of a phone call to say yes, you are hired or no you are not hired. This too me is CRAZY! The banks do not want us to waste THEIR time, but it is ok for them to waste ours. (It is almost like they think that their time is more valuable ) I think once you reach the second interview, with the Branch Manager, they should have the power to say yes or no right then and there.....NO MORE WASTED TIME!
As for Colonial, they called over a week ago and set up the phone interview for 9/11/07 at 10am and no one ever called me. I had other things to do, but was at home waiting for them to call. I called them and spoke with someone who was very apologetic and rescheduled the interview for today 9/13/07 at 10am. It was 10:10 when they called me. The woman I spoke to was very nice. We chatted for a few moments and then was asked to take the assessment test and call her back when I was finished. I called her back only to find out I FAILED! So I asked how exactly do you fail a test that is asking basically your option of yourself and what others think of you? There should be no right or wrong answers. Basically what she said is they are looking for a certain profile and I am not it.
How is it that a person can pass an assessment test for one bank and not another when the questions are almost always the same?
I was at my bank the other day opening an account, now she has been a teller for a lot of years, and she told me she failed the assessment test for another bank.
The whole system is crazy..... if a teller from one bank can not pass an assessment test for another bank when she already has a teller job there is a problem with the system.
For now, I guess I will just continue with my job search and hope for the best. There is the perfect job for me out there, I just have to find it!
